Fasting (8u201312 hours, water permitted) is required for glucose, lipid profile, and insulin tests. Most other biochemical tests can be performed non-fasting. Your doctor’s request form will specify fasting requirements.
Routine biochemical results are available within 2u20134 hours. STAT requests (urgent) are processed within 2 hours. Quantiferon-TB results are available same day or within 24 hours.
Quantiferon-TB Gold Plus (QFT-Plus) is a blood test used to detect latent tuberculosis infection. It measures the immune system’s response to TB antigens. It is used as an alternative or supplement to the traditional Mantoux (tuberculin skin) test.
